Between November 2025 and January 2026, Upinion continued engaging with people in southern Syria. This period of monitoring follows an initial assessment with affected communities in Sweida conducted between August 4 and September 5, 2025, which captured the immediate fallout of the violent intercommunal clashes that erupted in July 2025 between Druze and Bedouin armed groups.
This time, Upinion engaged with displaced communities both inside Sweida, and in the neighboring Dar’a governorate. While a fragile ceasefire has been in place since July 19, 2025, the governorate continues to grapple with the aftermath of an escalation that killed hundreds and displaced over 150,000 people.
